Portable patient isolation system for rooms Quickly transforms any patient room into a negative pressure isolation room
The HEPA-CARE® HC500FD air purification system from Abatement Technologies® can be used to transform a patient room into a negative pressure isolation room that complies with CDC and CSA standards. The HC500FD floor model is equipped with an H14 HEPA filter tested and certified to capture at least 99.995% of microscopic particles measuring 0.3 microns. Depending on the configuration, these economical units can typically provide 12 ACH or more in rooms up to 2,500 to 3,000 cubic feet when used in negative pressure mode.
When not used for negative pressure patient isolation, the versatile HC500FD can function as a recirculating HEPA air purifier, reducing the number of airborne pathogens in high-risk areas such as emergency room waiting rooms and treatment areas.
Air laden with deadly and infectious pathogens suspended in the air is drawn through two stages of filtration:
A 2" particle pre-filter treated with a microbial growth inhibitor (standard)
A pharmaceutical-grade HEPA filter with silicone gel seal and anodised aluminium frame
Eliminate odours and gases with a VAPOR-LOCK® carbon filter
Optional VAPOR-LOCK® carbon pre-filters are available for the HC800FD or HC800FDUV to remove gaseous contaminants and odours from the air. These filters are used in place of the standard particle pre-filter.
Clean and sterilise the air with optional germicidal UV disinfection
The HC500FDUV includes four UVGI germicidal ultraviolet irradiation lamps that emit germicidal ultraviolet light to inhibit the growth of bacteria and viruses. These lamps irradiate the filtered air before it is discharged to an external environment or recirculated into the facility. UVGI lamps must be factory installed at the time of order.
With thousands of units in service, the state-of-the-art HEPA-CARE® series filtration systems have an unmatched track record of reliable performance operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The new HC500 models feature the following:

Long-life HEPA filter with sturdy aluminium frame
Each pharmaceutical-grade HEPA filter from Abatement Technologies® is individually tested and certified in accordance with the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology's IEST-RP-CC001 standard to provide a minimum filtration efficiency of 99.995% against a 0.3-micron aerosol. The high-performance HEPA filter is mounted in a sturdy anodised aluminium frame that does not deform or promote microbial growth.
Silicone gel seal protects against contaminated air bypass
A downward-facing flange integrates with a silicone gel seal to create a channel that forces air through the HEPA filter and protects against the risk of contaminated air bypassing the filter.
Hinged door for quick filter replacement
The hinged front door is secured with two Phillips screws and provides quick access to the HEPA filter and 2-inch particle pre-filter for replacement or maintenance.
Integrated digital touch screen
High-visibility color LCD touch controls. The intuitive menu-driven screens are accessible after opening the password entry screen:
3.25" digital LCD touchscreen Password protection Five airflow settings Menu-driven display for monitoring various operating parameters Increased reliability Green "Unit On" indicator lights up when the unit is powered on
All Abatement HEPA-CARE® units have been tested by a nationally recognized testing laboratory (NRTL) and bear marks certifying that they comply with applicable OSHA, UL, and CSA electrical safety standards.
