Replacement Filter and Lamp Questions for Abatement Technologies® CAP® Whole-House Air Purification Systems

How do I order replacement filters and UV lamps for my customer? I have located the part number of the item.

Replacement filters and UV lamps are sold to homeowners only through authorized independent HVAC dealers. Abatement Technologies does not sell to homeowners directly.

For Approved Dealers:

While ordering, you might find it convenient to order annual PAK replacement filter and lamp kits for your customers. For more information about these prepackaged kits speak with your customer service representative.

Replacement filters, germicidal UV lamps and PAK kits may be ordered in one of three ways:

I am working on a CAP600 or CAP1200 unit. How do I replace the filters and lamps?
Can homeowners call Abatement Technologies and buy replacement filters and lamps?

No. We sell only to authorized independent HVAC and indoor air quality (IAQ) dealers. We are happy to speak with homeowners about choices, and refer them to dealers we work with in their local area for replacement parts and service.

 

Repair Parts/Technical Questions

How do I troubleshoot and get technical information for this unit?

Consult the user manual for product information. Technical advice and troubleshooting assistance is also available by contacting Abatement Technologies' Customer Service Department by phone at 800-634-9091 (U.S.) or 905-871-4720 (Canada) or by email iaqinfo@abatement.com.

Are ballasts or other parts available?

Yes. For repair parts please contact Abatement Technologies' Customer Service Department at 800-634-9091 (U.S.), 905-871-4720 (Canada) or 678-889-4200 (international) by email iaqinfo@abatement.com.

Why is the amber light illuminated on the CAP600 or CAP1200 unit?

CAP600/CAP1200 Series have a built-in amber 'change filter' lamp that illuminates when the first and second stage pre-filters are loaded with dirt and need replacement.

How long do the lights (germicidal UV lamps) last?

The high-output hard quartz lamps are rated for 9,000 hours (one year) of continuous operation when installed and used in accordance with the operating manual.

What does the "P" in UVP mean?

The "P" designation in the model name indicates that the CAP unit includes a powerful dual-frequency UV "Plus" lamp that provides germicidal UV disinfection and neutralizes odors using photolysis oxidation to produce ozone within the HVAC ductwork.

Does the UV or UVP lamp need to be on all the time?

The CAP unit should be run continuously to provide 24/7 air treatment and optimum lamp performance. Cycling the lamp on and off can reduce in-use lamp life.

Does the furnace blower need to be on all the time?

The CAP unit and the furnace blower should be run continuously to provide 24/7 air treatment and optimum lamp performance.

 

Warranty Questions

How do I handle a warranty issue?

Gather the model number and serial number information on the issue you are having. Other information can be helpful such as install date, replacement dates and other pertinent details. Then contact Abatement Technologies' Customer Service Department at 800-634-9091 (U.S. customers), 800-827-6443 (Canadian customers) or by email iaqinfo@abatement.com.

What is the limited warranty of CAP units?

Abatement Technologies, Inc. warrants that goods sold to the original user (homeowner) shall be free from defects in material and workmanship. Please refer to the instruction manual of each unit for detailed limited warranty information. This limited warranty does not include useful filter or UV lamp life.

Where do I find contractor pricing?

If you are an authorized dealer with a password, click to download the dealer price list. If you are not an authorized dealer, please complete the online form. A CAP representative will contact you shortly.

What is the suggested retail price?

Suggested retail prices are on the contractor price list.

How do you ship the units? How long does it take?

CAP units are shipped by ground shipping, unless arranged otherwise, through FedEx and UPS using the shipping company schedule to your area. Some shipments may require a signature at time of receipt.
